Quick Peek is built so that your files stay yours. We don't collect personal data, we don't run analytics, and we don't embed any third-party tracking. The four statements below are the policy — everything that follows is just detail.

Who we are

Quick Peek is developed by Appsvanta. This privacy policy applies to the Quick Peek macOS application and its bundled Quick Look extension, distributed through the Mac App Store under bundle identifier com.appsvanta.QuickPeek.

What data we collect

None. Quick Peek does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:

We do not ask for or store your name, email, account, or any identifier.
We do not run analytics or telemetry — no Sentry, PostHog, Firebase, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any similar SDK is embedded in the app.
We do not track usage, sessions, crashes, or feature interactions.
We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting of any kind.

This is reflected in our App Store privacy label, which reads "Data Not Collected". If that ever changes, we will update this policy and the App Store label before the new build is approved by Apple.

How your files are handled

Quick Peek reads files from your local disk only when you preview them — either by pressing Space in Finder, double-clicking a file, or dragging one onto the app window. The file's contents are parsed in memory and rendered on screen.

File contents are never transmitted off your Mac. They are not uploaded to a server, not sent to any cloud service, and not shared with any third party. Recently opened and pinned file references are stored locally in standard macOS user defaults so the home screen can show them on next launch.

The app is fully sandboxed (com.apple.security.app-sandbox), and only accesses files you explicitly open via the system file picker, Quick Look, or drag-and-drop.

Network access

Quick Peek requests the com.apple.security.network.client entitlement for a single purpose: Apple's StoreKit framework uses it to verify your Quick Peek Pro purchase and to support "Restore Purchase".

All purchase verification traffic is handled by Apple, not by us. We never see your Apple ID, payment information, or any data Apple chooses not to share. No other part of the app makes any network request.

In-app purchases

Quick Peek Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The information Apple shares back with the app is limited to whether the current Apple ID owns the Pro entitlement — we receive no payment details, billing addresses, or personal account information.

Children's privacy

Quick Peek is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Because we collect no personal data at all, the app is safe for users of any age.

Your rights

Because we don't collect personal data, there's nothing to access, export, correct, or delete on our side. Local preferences and recents are stored on your Mac under com.appsvanta.QuickPeek; deleting Quick Peek from /Applications removes them.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Quick Peek handles data — for example, by adding optional diagnostics or an account-based sync feature — we will update this page and the App Store privacy label, and we will surface the change inside the app before any new behavior takes effect.
